Pic of the Day

Welcome to the Pic of the Day

Wild On The Fly has long enjoyed a respected legacy of photographic excellence as one of the first sporting publications to transcend the “grin and grip” pose and push the boundaries of piscatorial picturing. We continue to champion the power of the still image, assured by the old adage that “fish just don’t live in ugly places.”

If you’ve got a great pic of anything related to fly fishing; from a jaw-droppin’ slab, to spectacular scenery, to cultural curiosities, to the unique or funny moment, e-mail it to us complete with all the appropriate info. If we like it, we’ll run it as a Pic of the Day and you’ll earn the coveted title of Piscine Paparazzi!

AFRICAN TAKE OUT?

One of our favorite and most intrepid lady anglers we know is Lee Ann Ross. We've sent her to Mexico several times on her own, and that's a walk in the park compared to where this damselfly has fished. Lee Ann submitted this great shot of a giant 130-lb plus Nile perch she photographed (but didn't catch!) while fly fishing for the huge fish on Lake Victoria, Africa. Read her new Journal entry on catching these fish-sticks-on-steroids at Murchison Falls in Uganda.
