Pic of the Day

Welcome to the Pic of the Day

Wild On The Fly has long enjoyed a respected legacy of photographic excellence as one of the first sporting publications to transcend the “grin and grip” pose and push the boundaries of piscatorial picturing. We continue to champion the power of the still image, assured by the old adage that “fish just don’t live in ugly places.”

If you’ve got a great pic of anything related to fly fishing; from a jaw-droppin’ slab, to spectacular scenery, to cultural curiosities, to the unique or funny moment, e-mail it to us complete with all the appropriate info. If we like it, we’ll run it as a Pic of the Day and you’ll earn the coveted title of Piscine Paparazzi!

March 09,2010 - DEEP BLUE
Remember that dude we featured in Pic of the Day on February 25 fighting a tarpon from his float tube?! We mentioned at the time that he was also into freediving and underwater photography. Well Daniel sent a a few pics of an 800-pound plus, free swimming blue marlin he shot in the Azores, a Portuguese archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean. Attracted to the pink teaser on the left, the spectacular pelagic game fish hung around long enough for several very rare images to be captured.
