Pic of the Day

Welcome to the Pic of the Day

Wild On The Fly has long enjoyed a respected legacy of photographic excellence as one of the first sporting publications to transcend the “grin and grip” pose and push the boundaries of piscatorial picturing. We continue to champion the power of the still image, assured by the old adage that “fish just don’t live in ugly places.”

If you’ve got a great pic of anything related to fly fishing; from a jaw-droppin’ slab, to spectacular scenery, to cultural curiosities, to the unique or funny moment, e-mail it to us complete with all the appropriate info. If we like it, we’ll run it as a Pic of the Day and you’ll earn the coveted title of Piscine Paparazzi!

February 08,2010 - AVIAN ANGLER
How cool is this shot?! Pablo Negri, noted photographer and former marketing director for Chile's Nomads of the Seas fishing program, was checking out new water at the Chime Lodge near Junin, Argentina last season when he spied this beautiful kingfisher grab a small brown trout from the legendary Rio Chimehuin. After a long, slow stalk - and about a gazillion shots! - Pablo finally got close enough to record the final toss and swallow of this highly effective avian angler.
