Mahakita's Way 13:55 - A primitive recording from Columbian angler Nicolas Olano recounting a wonderful native legend of how fly fishing might have begun, not on the chalk streams of England but rather in the Amazonian jungle of Columbia. This surprising, but certainly plausible revelation, may have you reconsidering the chronological significance of Ælian's Natural History or Dame Juliana's The Treatyse on Fysshynge with an Angle. And it will certainly have you buying into such a possibility if you have ever fly fished for "tucunare," or peacock bass.

The fire is burning

This is why we adventure to new parts of the world with a fly rod in hand. Hearing stories like this lights a fire in me to travel and experience and learn, and maybe even catch a beautiful fish. I now can't wait to catch my first Tucunare!

Great story...!

This is such a great story, its worth listening to!
